The Codex is good for documentation: http://codex.wordpress.org/

Thanks for your reply Andrew.
That’s great to know.
But, I was really looking for a video based, tutorial type course.
Something like Lynda.com has.
Can you think of any others besides Lynda.com?
Thank you.

Google can probably find a bunch for you – I know Udemy.com has some, also there’s a lot on YouTube. (No idea about quality.)
Also see: http://wordpress.tv/
One thing to keep in mind is that WP keeps changing (improving) – so you will very likely run into books/videos/classes that are no longer totally current.
EDIT – okay, Andrew beat me to the WP.TV one : )!
Treehouse has some great WordPress courses from beginner tutorials to stuff on theme and plugin development, along with the relevant courses on HTML/CSS/jQuery/etc. that’d you’d need. It helped me kickstart my learning a great amount.
Along with the others in this thread I also recommend reading through the Codex and keeping it bookmarked to use as a reference. Also checkout WordPress.tv for some great talks and Lynda.com has plenty of great video courses as well.
And, of course, the best way to learn is to get your feet wet! When you’re comfortable, check out how to spin up a local WordPress install on your computer that you can play around with.
@llexan – I changed your Treehouse link. Affiliate links aren’t permitted on the forums, just FYI 🙂 It’s an easy mistake.
@ipstenu – Oh, my apologies! I should’ve read the rules more closely haha ^^;
