WordPress Commenting Trouble

Hey everyone

I am currently trying to allow commenting on blog posts in WordPress for my friends photography portfolio website.

I am working locally using XAMPP on Windows and I am close to my goal but a few things aren’t going as I’d hoped.

At the moment I can add comments as an admin easily. But when I log out and go in as a visitor I start getting problems.

I would like it so a visitor to the website visits the blog page of the website, likes what he/she sees and decides to become a subscriber of some kind ie. Making a username and setting up a password etc. This then would allow them to comment on the blog post with their own Avatar etc.

I have made my theme from scratch following a few tutorials on YT which are very good and detailed. However the comments tutorial hasn’t worked for me, has anyone overcome this problem and perhaps provide me a solution? I would be very grateful. Anything will help greatly.
