WordPress blog linking to wrong page

    Hi there,

    Please see: http://www.tektoniamarketing.com.au

    I’ve opened it up so you can see it – it’s still under development.

    However, when you click the blog tab on the Home page or on the Blog page, it links to the marketing page. Very strange.

    The permalink in the blog posts page (the part of the dashboard where you compose a post) does have the URL to the marketing page… I assume that is the problem.

    However, it won’t let me change it and I am reluctant to change the permalinks structure in the settings. Last time I did that with a wordpress site it blew up!

    Please help if able.

    What happens if you switch to the default permalink structure?

    Hi Esmi,

    Well I put on my brave face and tried it. It didn’t blow up.
    It did fix the blog link. However, now I’m stuck with permalinks that aren’t good for SEO.

    What do you think I should do?

    Now try setting your custom permalinks back up and see what happens. Do ensure that you make a note of any messages that appear when you save the new custom structure.

    When I change to Post Name permalink type, I get this:

    Permalink structure updated. Remove write access on web.config file now!

    However, it works just fine.
    I think I made an error when I tried to create my own custom permalink. To be honest, I don’t need anything more than Post Name permalinks so as far as I’m concerned, this will do!

    No problem. All we really did was added a fresh set of rewrite rules to your web.config file. My guess is that it had become damaged at some point.
