• All. I am new to WordPress though have built a site using PC based Dreamweaver before and most recently as I am now a Mac-dude, iWeb. But my Mac forum mates chimed in with WP for a site building tool. I have the basic understanding and it is an incredible concept. One thing I am trying to get my head around is how do you go about looking for plugins that do what you want to do? Is there some all-knowing grand index organised as function rather than some esoteric name? If it is somewhere obvious on wordpress.org, I apologise ahead of time.

  • It is indeed here on wordpress.org. 🙂
Just click Extend in the menu then plugins. Here’s a direct link: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/

You can find even more with Google ‘wordpress plugin what-I-want’.

Hello Administrator, started my own website and forum about 2 weeks ago to blog my travels and other stuff. My forum friends are telling me my posts in the HomePage are too long, too much scrolling in order to get to the next article.

I have looked at all the available themes and didn’t find one which allows each post to be excerpted and I don’t know how to go about starting that myself. Could you please have a look at my website and suggest something??

    Thank you very much!

audeo23, just use the <!--more--> tag to divide the post. In the HTML editor, it’s the button titled “more.” In the Visual editor it’s the button that has a horizontal dotted line separating two rectangles.

If you need further assistance, please start your own topic, and please don’t hijack an unrelated topic next time.
