WordPress 404 when attempting to view mp3

I’ve not been able to find an answer to this problem from the support forums…

I’m getting a wordpress 404 when attempting to open an mp3 link from my server. It occurs when I link to a mp3 in a post AND when I click on a link from an apache index page. This seems to only occur with new files… older files work fine as you can see from this index page:

jenny on the railroad.mp3 displays the problem, while others do not. Renaming the file does not solve the problem. All new files uploaded display the problem. Renaming the folder does not solve the problem. The file is valid and available. There is no .htaccess file in the folder. Occurs in any folder any depth (“/”, “/somefolder/”, etc…)

Can’t figure it out…
