Details: The core files scan will not be run because this version of WordPress is not currently indexed by Wordfence. This may be due to using a prerelease version or because the servers are still indexing a new release. If you are using an official WordPress release, this issue will automatically dismiss once the version is indexed and another scan is run.
Hi @dramsay,
Can I have you take a look at wp-includes/version.php?
What is the value of $wp_version?
Dave
I have my main site and I also have another site in a sub folder. Both have Wordfence installed.
Hi again! I just ran some tests on my end and it seems to be fine. Can I have you run the scan again and see if Wordfence returns any warnings?
Thanks!
Hi, Ran scan on both sites and there were no warnings.
At the top of the screen I still have the following message
“To make your site as secure as possible, take a moment to optimize the Wordfence Web Application Firewall” I have 2 options: Click here to configure or Dismiss.
That’s good to hear!
For the second message, does it go away once you click to configure the Firewall? The WAF (Wordfence Web Application firewall) is an important barrier against attackers.
Dave
Dave,
Message says to optimize the Wordfence Web Application Firewall. So are you saying to go ahead and select the option “Click here to configure”? Please advise.
If I select “to configure”, I get the following:
To make your site as secure as possible, the Wordfence Web Application Firewall is designed to run via a PHP setting called auto_prepend_file, which ensures it runs before any potentially vulnerable code runs. This PHP setting is currently in use, and is including this file:
/hermes/bosnaweb03a/b2651/nf.nbhpca-aspnb1/public_html/wordfence-waf.php
If you don’t recognize this file, please contact us on the WordPress support forums before proceeding.
You can proceed with the installation and we will include this from within our wordfence-waf.php file which should maintain compatibility with your site, or you can opt to override the existing PHP setting.
Include or Override
NOTE: If you have separate WordPress installations with Wordfence installed within a subdirectory of this site, it is recommended that you perform the Firewall installation procedure on those sites before this one.
We’ve preselected your server configuration based on our tests, but if you know your web server’s configuration, please select it now. You can also choose “Manual Configuration” for alternate installation details.
Please download a backup of the following files before we make the necessary changes:
