Wordfence Scan

We have been advised by our hosts to stop regular Wordfence scans as we were getting a lot of 504 timeout gateway errors. the site is being developed on the non www domain with a maintenance redirect in place. If you were to disable Wordfence Scans, then wouldn’t that negate the whole purpose of Wordfence. We are using the free version of the plugin.
