Wordfence interferring with database backup

    I have a db backup plugin which WF is interferring with my changing one of the backup options by throwing a 403 error. There is no reason for WF to be interferring with this plugin which is listed in the WordPress repository and I have used it safely for years.

    How do I fix this issue?

    Hello @flyfisher842 and thanks for reaching out to us!

    If we switch the WAF to Learning Mode, then run the backup, this should resolve your issue with the 403’s.

    From the Wordfence Dashboard click on Manage WAF. Then you will see Basic Firewall Options > Web Application Firewall Status. Change the option to Learning Mode. Now perform the actions that were causing issues. This will help Wordfence learn that these actions are normal and it will allow them in the future. After you have finished performing the actions, switch the WAF from Learning Mode back to Enabled and Protecting. Now test to see if these actions work correctly.
