• Bug in WordFence Central

If you add a website to Wordfence central while that site was already added, it opens the WordPress dashboard of that site and doesn’t redirect back to central.

Then, in WordFence central, that site is listed under ‘Connection Issues’. The details show nothing and when you click ‘complete setup’ to resolve, you get back into the WordPress dashboard of that site where the status is Activated. You can only disconnect or go back to Central, where the site keeps being listed with a connection issue.

Even if you disconnect from within WordPress AND in remove from central, and then add again, it keeps being listed with a connection issue.

You can sync these sites with a template and launch a scan. It all works but the sites keep on being listed with a connection issue.

  • Hi!

Are you still seeing this issue? We’ve made some changes in the last few weeks, and although I wasn’t able to duplicate the issue, it would definitely be good to know if it’s ongoing – we do have checks in place to prevent duplicate sites from being added, so if those aren’t working we’ll need to fix it as soon as possible.

I have been able to remove and correctly re-add these sites now. I had to disconnect in Central and in the plugin settings first. Didn’t work before, but now it did.

    Thanks
    JP

PS: can you please have a look at my another ticket?

Hi JP – I’ve done my best to answer your questions in the other ticket, but I also wanted to give you an update – we’ve found a way to duplicate the issue you were having (where a site could simultaneously show as active and in connection issues) so I’ve put a bug in for that. Thanks for letting us know about it!

Great, I have seen the answers and replied about one of them.

    Thank you!
    JP
