Woocommerce – Vat Calculation Error

Dear Support,
we are realizing a new ecommerce store with woocommerce and wordpress. We bought the Flatsome professional theme.
We have seen that there is a problem in the calculation of VAT.

We have set up automatic taxes we have set up products including tax. the VAT is correctly set to 22% (Italy standard). We set up tax calculation on Store address (italy) and we sell only in Italy.

If we enter the price (including taxes) of € 10,000, the system calculates € 2200 of VAT but the calculation is not correct. The right value is 1803.28 €

What should we set up to solve the problem?

Hi Mikey,

unfortunatly we have the same problem also with your configuration. It seems the system calculate tax as 22% of total and not like total – total/1.22 (where vat is 22%).

Is it possible to see how the system calculate tax ?

The system calculates taxes like this:

Tax = Line Price - Line Price / 1.2

I tried using the same rules you have and it did calculate properly for me. I would double check your tax settings, and then make sure to try from a new browser so that you are not seeing any cached results.

Hi Mikey,
today we found the problem. If we connect Jetpack to wordpress and the woocommerce service plugin calculate automated tax, the vat value is incorrect. If we disconnect jetpack, the woocommerce service plugin stop the automated calculation and the vat value in correct.

At the moment we mantain jetpack disconnected and all is ok.

Hi @careorchestra2018,

Thanks for the update! You could still keep Jetpack connected and just change it to not use Automated taxes if you wanted to keep the other features from Jetpack and WooCommerce Services around! 🙂

Now all is ok!
