Hi,
I understand that your product categories disappeared from the Product Catalog after updating to WooCommerce 9.9.3, leaving only the “Unclassified” category visible. We understand how disruptive this can be to your store.
We haven’t been able to replicate this specific issue on our end, so to help us understand what might be happening, could you please provide us with the following:
- A screenshot of the issue on your Product Catalog (Categories page).
- Your System Status Report. You can find this by going to WooCommerce > Status, then click “Get system report” and “Copy for support.” Please paste the copied content into a new gist at https://gist.github.com/ and share the link with us here.
Looking forward to your reply!

Hi there!
Thank you for sharing the screenshot and the system status report.
I’ve reviewed the report and noticed that you’re using the Dynamic Product Categories Design plugin, which could be causing the issue.
For testing purposes, could you please run a conflict test by deactivating all plugins except WooCommerce and activating a default theme like Twenty Twenty-Five? Then check if the issue still occurs.
You can follow this guide for step-by-step instructions on how to run a conflict test:
🔗 https://woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/If you still experience the issue after the conflict test, please keep all plugins deactivated (except WooCommerce), leave the Twenty Twenty-Five theme active, and share the link to your staging site so we can take a closer look.
I did what you said and deactivated all plugins except Woocommerce. I also left the Astra theme. The screen is below.
The issue still occurs.
When I activate Twenty Twenty-Five, it shows products in the product catalogues, and I don’t know how to change it in this theme, to be honest (in Astra, I have settings to show only categories in the product catalogue), but I don’t think that helped much. Screen below:

Hi there!
Thank you for following the troubleshooting steps. I can see that products are being displayed on the category pages. This usually happens when the Category display option is set to “Show products.”
Could you please go to Appearance → Customizer → WooCommerce → Product Catalog, and make sure the “Category display” option is set to “Show subcategories”?
Let me know if that works for you!
Hi,
With astra theme is not a problem to find this settings of woocommerce
But with Twenty Twenty-Five those settings isnt extist or i cant find them
https://ibb.co/xSmsPM9dbtw i see that other guy on forum also has this issue and fix it by using filter
this filter is solving problem on my page as well
Hi @bboyniziol,
Thank you for getting back to me and for the clarification — I’m glad to hear the filter was helpful.
Based on your screenshot, I believe the issue you’re facing is similar to others I’ve come across. It looks like only one category is displaying, likely because it contains direct products, while the others — which are probably parent categories — aren’t appearing due to a known issue.
This is a recognized bug and has been reported here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/58768
The development team is currently investigating it, and you can follow the GitHub thread for updates.
In the meantime, aside this known issue, if the support you received has been useful and you’re enjoying your experience with WooCommerce, we’d really appreciate a quick review here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce/reviews/#new-post
