Good morning. I created a few variable products in woocommerce, each variation with a SKU. I set up the sync from woocommerce to Square. The sync log tells me that the sync has been completed, but despite my multiple attempts, no product is created in Square… Where do you think the problem could come from?

    Hi there,

I understand you’re syncing variable products from WooCommerce to Square, and while the sync log shows as “completed,” the products aren’t appearing in your Square account. Let’s try to narrow down what might be causing this.

Let’s try to narrow down what might be causing this.

Here are a few things to check:

    • Could you please please confirm that the sync direction for products is set correctly. For your case, it should be set to “WooCommerce → Square” under:
WooCommerce > Settings > Square > Sync Settings
    • Is the Square product assigned to the Location that’s configured in the plugin settings? This plugin only supports one Square Location, so if some products aren’t syncing as expected, double-check to ensure they are in the same Square Location as defined in the plugin settings.
    • Does your site support background processing? Background processing is required to successfully sync product data between Square and WooCommerce. Square and many other WooCommerce features/plugins require background processing. If your site fails, please contact your host to enable background processing/loopback connections. While some hosts may identify this as a security issue, there’s no security threat to using a loopback connection and, if done correctly, it won’t increase server usage. Quality hosts will mitigate increased server usage with rate limiting.

Also, please shared the System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status. Please use https://pastebin.com/ or https://gist.github.com/ and share a link to that paste in reply here. Once we have more information, we’ll be able to assist you further.

    • OK thank you for your feedback… I resolved the problem by understanding that I was in a sandbox environment in woocommerce and that I was looking at the articles in production mode on Square… The products were therefore successfully synchronized in sandbox mode on the Square side. On the other hand, when switching to production mode for the 2 categories (woocommerce + Square), the synchronization shows me an error message (even though the products are exactly the same)… Below is the error message from the woocommerce log console: Failed step cycle: upsert_new_products (0.46s) – [NOT_FOUND] Catalog object with ID 3LRTCXNTBQDZU26C2A4FJBME not found.
    • Attached the link to the full log : https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/w4hbk456suyi1llaq4378/square-2025-07-29.log?rlkey=mf0q4xyuroxjb5r4sm8iibngi&dl=0

    I can’t identify what the “Catagog Object with ID 3LRTCXNTBQDZU26C2A4FJBME” is… 🧐

Would you have an idea please ? And why sync works in a sandbox environment and not in a production environment ?

    Hi there!

From the log message you shared:

Failed step cycle: upsert_new_products (0.46s) – [NOT_FOUND] Catalog object with ID 3LRTCXNTBQDZU26C2A4FJBME not found.

This error typically means that a product or variation ID from the sandbox environment (in this case, 3LRTCXNTBQDZU26C2A4FJBME) is being referenced after switching to production mode, but that ID does not exist in your Square production catalog.

Sandbox and production in Square are completely separate environments — any products created in the sandbox don’t exist in the production catalog unless manually recreated or synced.

However, Everything in the log looks normal. This log shows that the WooCommerce Square plugin is successfully communicating with Square’s API, and no errors are present.

To assist you further, could you please disconnect the current account by going to WooCommerce → Settings → Square, and then try reconnecting your Square account?
After reconnecting, manually run a sync by navigating to WooCommerce → Settings → Square → Updates.

Let me know how it goes!

Thank you for your feedback But I still have the same problem that I had yesterday several times… When I try to reconnect to Square in woocomerce/settings/Square, I click on connect, I enter my Square identifiers/password, and I arrive directly on my Square dashboard (the woocommerce page is left), and when I return to woocomerce/settings/Square I am not connected. When I try to connect again, the same thing happens in loop without me being able to connect…

    Hi there,

    Thank you for the update.

Since the connection issue persists, could you please record a short video showing the exact steps you’re taking when trying to connect your Square account in WooCommerce → Settings → Square? This will help us better understand what’s happening during the connection process.

    Hi @fred83220,

Thanks for sharing the video — I can see exactly what you’re referring to.

To rule out any caching-related issues, kindly remove the sandbox setup, disconnect Square, then deactivate and delete the plugin. After that, make sure to clear both your site and browser cache (this step is very important).

Once done, reinstall the plugin and reconnect to Square by following the steps outlined here:

Let us know the outcome after trying this.
