Woocommerce Subcategories not showing

Hi I have a product category that has various sub categories and those sub categories have various products in, I haven’t assigned those products to the parent category, however when I go to the shop category page (not sub category page) I only see the products not the sub categories, how do I display the sub categories and then on click show the relevant products within that sub category?
