WooCommerce – Place Order Button Stops Working

I have discovered a problem with the Place Order Button on my site. I’m not sure if this is particular to my set up or not…

At the last page in the checkout process, the Order Review page, when a customer is expected to click the Place Order button, the button sometimes fails to work. I believe that I have found the issue to be caused when a customer leaves the Order Review page and then returns. It appears that something is being cached in the browser that causes the button to cease working. Clearing the browser cache clears up the problem, but it also clears the customers cart. And obviously it reflects poorly on the customer experience to have to put them through the steps of clearing their cache to make my cart work. Most customers would simply get frustrated and abandon the purchase altogether.

Anyone have nay idea what the issue is and how to solve it?
