    Hi, I’m having a problem with payments on my website. I also use PayPal as my debit card method. We are using WooCommerce PayPal Payments.

    The problem is this:

    > With Visa, if I pay by debit card on the website through PayPal, the payment goes through.

    > With Visa, if I pay directly on the website, I get the following errors: “An error occurred while processing your order. Please check your payment method for any charges and review your order history before placing the order again. OrderProcessor.php:197 The order status has changed from Awaiting Payment to Failed.”

    What could be the problem? I’m going crazy.

    It is difficult to identify the exact cause based only on the message you shared because its quite generic error. To understand what is happening, we would need to review:

    • the detailed PayPal Payments logs from WooCommerce
    • the order notes for the failed transaction
    • your environment details from the WooCommerce system report

    Without these, it is not possible to give a reliable answer.

    Include the WooCommerce system report. With that information, we can see why the direct card flow is being declined while the PayPal processed card succeeds.
