    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I build a Woocommerce website, the website is in the Dutch language. when a new order has been placed the client gets a new email but the email sent in the English language also when the client cancel the order or make a new registration all the email in The English language, also the name of the client shown in the attribute. like Beste {customer_first_name}. see screenshot below:

Can you please confirm if your site only comes in one language or you’re using a plugin to create multiple language versions of a site?

It might be that the translation of WooCommerce is incomplete or your child theme overrides the default WooCommerce email templates thus keeping them in English.

You can see the template overrides in your System Status Report, in WooCommerce >> Status.

I’d recommend downloading a plugin like Loco Translate and making sure that the strings are translated in Loco Translate >> WooCommerce, Loco Translate >> your child theme and in any plugin that might be altering the default WooCommerce emails.

    I hope this helps!

It’s hard to say why exactly are your WooCommerce emails in English with the current amount of information, but you can copy one particular string that isn’t translated at the moment and search for that string in Loco Translate. You’ll have to select a plugin (or your theme) in Loco Translate to search for this string in – do it under WooCommerce first. If you’re not seeing a particular string under WooCommerce (or it is already translated) – this means that this string isn’t translated elsewhere, so you’ll have to search for the same string under different plugins (or your theme) in Loco Translate.

    I hope this helps!

That could be it! If your child theme contains outdated overrides in English – those will be used instead.

The process of fixing outdated templates is described here. If you find yourself in need of help with that – you may want to reach out to the developer of your theme.

In Loco Translate under your child theme you should be able to find all the un-translated strings, but it might be a better idea to update the templates first and then translate those with Loco.
