[Plugin: WooCommerce] Product Description not showing up!

I am running siteorigin template ‘north’ along with woocommerce version 2.6.2. I’ve been holding off updating because I wanted to see what happened with others.
About a month or so ago, i made some modifications to the theme functions.php file to change the description tab to the name of the product. This was done to the primary theme and NOT to my child theme – mistake number 1
Then didn’t document where I got it from or what specifically was done – mistake 2, and 3.
Then when siteorigin came out with a new version of ‘north’. I inadvertently updated – mistake #4.And now I can’t see my product descriptions!
frak!
Trust me, I know exactly how awful this is….however, someone care to point me in the right direction to getting my product descriptions back ?
I took a screen cap of what’s going on, and slowed down the part where you can see the product description come up after a page refresh and then it gets wiped out for some reason.
