• We have a new client that already had a website live and we were asked to take over the domain, hosting and build a new website on it.

I have transferred a new clients domain into our system and pointed that domain to our hosting, I have loaded wordpress BUT their old website is still showing and when I go to /wp-admin the following error appears:

    “Not Found

The requested URL /wp-admin was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”

So I cannot log into the dashboard.

I have never had to do this transfer so if someone can help me with how to wipe the site (everything that was needing to be saved has been) so I can now build on it from scratch within the dashboard.

I read a few other threads with people that had similar errors but to be honest didn’t understand the points on how to fix it.

    Thank you in advance!

And I have checked URL in phpmyadmin.

It takes up to 72 hours for a domain name change (of Name Servers) to take effect.

That sounds like what you are experiencing. During this 72 hour period, some people around the world see the old site and some see the new.

Ahh ok. So should I remove the wordpress installation until the site ‘goes down’ then reinstall it and build from there? Because at the moment I cannot get into dashboard (comes up with error message)
