    We’d like to create a group for (bbpress) forum users who have access to forums for a year. I tried to create a group but BBpress uses another way of dealing with capabilities. What WP_capablities would we need to assign for bb_participants?

    Hi,

    Related to protected forums, topics and replies … we now have this free integration Groups bbPress – Groups bbPress integrates Groups and bbPress so that all topics and replies related to protected forums are also protected automatically.

    To grant access for a year, and assuming that you want members to pay for that, you can use these premium plugins Groups PayPal or Groups WooCommerce.

    Groups bbPress can now be installed directly from the WordPress Dashboard – http://wordpress.org/plugins/groups-bbpress/

    Kento – you rock!

    I’ve been using groups and groups for woocommerce for a few years on one site. We just added a forum and realised today that the groups restrictions weren’t working as expected and registered non members were getting access.

    I looked around and bang – you’ve already solved the problem.

    FWIW: we resolved to creating a WP role for the specific purpose of giving members access to the forums for a year (one edition). Once the next edition comes up, we simply revoke access for the user role, then setup a new/duplicate role for the new edition. Thanks anyway!
