• Hi everyone,

    I’ve been searching for a simple easy and clean theme like twenty twelve that are width to support my huge photo (1024 x 768 minimum). Anyway I pondered across Jon Cave’s blog who happened to be the core developer and I’ve been searching for the same exact theme that was used for his blog here: http://joncave.co.uk/

    Is there any modifications that I can do to make the twenty twelve theme appears to be wider like his? Or perhaps ways to make the latest twenty thirteen wider for support of huge photos?

    Any helps will be appreciated and thank you for looking at my thread.

  • Yes, you can modify twentytwelve to make it wider – Jon Cave’s site is using a modified version of that theme. But you’ll need to make any changes by using a Child Theme so your changes won’t be lost when WP is updated:

    Hey Netsoft –

    I had a little free time so here’s a modified version of TwentyTwelve just removed the sidebar and stretched the content divs the full width. Should be what you’re after!

    If you need something else – post it here. I can’t make any guarantees on what I’ll be able to do but if it’s simple enough it shouldn’t be a problem.

    Edit – Also forgot to mention that TwentyTwelve and a huge percentage of other sites use a 960 width container. So hopefully that won’t be an issue. It’s possible to make it go 1024 but your image sizing down to 960 shouldn’t be a problem.

    Enjoy =)

    @george, could you use PasteBin to share code? It’s safer that way.

    Andrew – Absolutely! I’ll pastebin them now –

    style.css

    index.php

    These were quick edits, I can’t guarantee there are not other problems but if there is they will be very simple fixes.

    Best,
