Widget – truncate content with "Read More" link

    Can’t work out how to do this – obviously want widget to display XXX characters of testimonial content together with author and read more link as testimonials have wildly varying lengths and the widget has to fit into a layout.

    So how do I display rotating testimonials with a read more link?

    Hey!

    If you use the Read More tag inside your Testimonial content, and then use the Use Excerpt attribute on the widget or shortcode, you should have the desired effect.

    Hey clownguts!

    Via a shortcode, you want the attribute use_excerpt=1 set.

    For example: [testimonials use_excerpt=1].

    That will display the content up to the Read More tag that you have input inside the Body of your Testimonial (the standard WordPress Read More tag.)
