Widget Post Editor Problem

Hi,

I have recently upgrade to WP 2.1. I did excatly what the installation guide had asked me to do. However, I now find that there are a couple of things “missing” in my admin bar. For example, when I go to my presentation tab, I am not able to see the Widget tab below them even when I have selected a widget enabled theme and the plugin is activated. In addition, if I write a new post I am not able to swtich between the View tab and the Code tab. Also after I finish typing my post, when I click “Publish” button, I get the message “Are you sure you want to navigate out of this window. By clicking OK you will loose all the data and navigate out of this page and by clicking “Cancel” you will remain in the same page?”

If I click OK, then I navigate out of the existing page but the Post is not published. I do not know what is the problem. I tried using default theme set. Again the strange problem occured. I could see only a couple of sidebar options such as Author, Pages, Categories, Archives etc but not the META login etc.

I also do not see the background image of the entire theme.

I tried everything from re-installing to check the code. As I am not that affluent in PHP I could not detect if there are any mistakes/changes to make.

Can anyone please help. I do not want to scrap my blog and start all over again as it does not guarantee me that this would not occur again.

PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME !!!
