Widget destroys editing capability

    Extensive testing shows that the Widget Options Plugin is responsible for destroying access to editing the page content and after attempts to edit also the front end display.

    The conditions that seem to be involved in the problem is the ASTRA (basic) theme, Spectra Plugin (containers specifically) and classic widgets. The problem appeared after the recent update of Widget Options. All other items are on their newest version. The site functions correctly with Widget Options removed.

    Sorry to hear about your issues here @weblinkde! Can you confirm if you’re using the latest version? We released two in succession and the latest one should have fixed this issue. (But please confirm and send the version number)

    Thank you for the response. Yes, version #4.2.1 still causes the error.

    I’m having the same problem. I also use Astra, without Spectra, although I do have the PublishPress Block plugin, but the problem affects the WordPress core blocks. All the wp core blocks are broken with the error “The block contains unexpected or invalid content,” and if I try to restore them, all customizations are lost. This happens regardless of whether or not I perform the migration.
