Widget creator for homepage on wordpress

    OK so im helping someone out who has a fully widgetised Homepage, they want to run the agenda widget on bottom row 2nd column but just adding the widget creates all kind of layout problems.

    The only solution ive got so far is to use the widget creator and put the code into a text widget that works with the theme. But! when i click on the event and then try and click the ‘calendar’ button nothing happens. Im guessing thats because the widget creator is intended for use on an external site as ive inspected the link and it looks ok.

    Does anyone know of a solution for this?

    Hi Lauren,

    “Calendar” button only removes pop-up window and returns visitors to the calendar page where you clicked to see the event. So there is nothing wrong with that.

    when inspect the button elements though it has a redirect to my events page href=”http://uollssi.wpengine.com/events3/”, so should it not take the user there when clicked?

    No, it should open the page where you clicked event title.

    ok no worries, just seems a bit odd that it has the link I added and when you hover it says ‘view all events’. I’ve kind of worked around it by adding the same button to the bottom of the page calendar which does do what I need it to. Do you if you can adjust the script so that the popup doesn’t happen?

    also weirdly when I right click the button and ‘open in new tab’, it actually does take me to the page on the ‘href’ tag

    never mind I’ve done a work around by adding the button to the widget area and hiding it from the popup. Thanks for your help!
