• I noticed there are a few widget control plugin (you are able to turn specific widget on/off on specific pages of the site.
I’ve never gotten them to “work” in 4.9.5. I.e. if I say “Hide widget ‘Categories: recipes’ on page Blog” the widget nevertheless is displayed on the Blog page. The only thing I’ve managed to hide is the search box, but not if I specify a specific page (only if I specify all pages).

It seems I’m missing something? What can that be?

Please identify exactly which plugin you are using and then post in that plugin’s dedicated forum via its page in the Plugin Repository.

You could submit a support thread to the plugin’s support forum to report the issue, so they can take action as appropriate.

I get the result from all plugins, which was why I didn’t … I can do so of course.

Try switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen, etc.) and see of those plugins work with default theme.

    Testing some more here.
I got the widget to be hidden on “All Archive pages” but not on my named page. Bot with a standrad template and my edited one. So maybe I should go look at the plugin forum.
