• Hi, I have been working really hard on a personal project of mine through lockdown and the extra time it afforded me as I looked for work.
I created my main site in my www. domain, and created a backup/test site in a sub-domain called area52.mydomain. I have found that my main www. is missing a primary widget area on a key page that I want to utilise, yet it is present in my area52 page. I have a picture showing the difference in the “customize” view.

Can anyone help me, I have tried reinstalling the theme, disabling plugins, I even took my files from my area52 subdomain and overwritten my www. files and its still the same.
    Thank you.

  • Hi there,

I’m assuming you’re using the same theme on both sites?

Could you take a look at your homepage or reading settings and ensure its same for both sites.

Also, ensure you’re using the same page template across both sites pages.

You can also try accessing the widgets via Appearance > Widgets.

Let me know what you find.

    Cheers!

Thank you for your reply @sukafia Yes both themes, plugin versions. I have quickly checked my reading settings and they are identical. I will check my homepage tomorrow as I know I made some changes to my www. homepage.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

So I activated a different homepage across both sites (www. and area52.) now the primary widget is also missing on my .area52 site, even after reverting back to my main homepage.

It looks like it’s from your theme. You may want to contact your theme developers.

You could also try deactivating plugins not needed by your theme and see if that helps.
