Why was I blocked?
-
When I attempted to log in to the support forum with the username HCE I received an error message that said:
“You’ve been blocked. If you think a mistake has been made, contact this site’s administrator.”
Why was I blocked and how do I contact the administrator?

You were blocked for making the same post, yelling at the mods, nine times, and then making multiple accounts with which to do it.
In generally, acting like that will not make us think we made a mistake in blocking you. We get that you disagree with your argumentative post being deleted, but the correct way to handle that would be to prove we overreacted by demonstrating helpfulness and usefulness in the forums. Instead, you chose to spam.
This doesn’t mean everyone was blameless in the situation, but when a user comes back like you did, it rather reinforces our suspicion that they’re angry beyond the ability to communicate clearly. You would not have been blocked had you posted once with one account.
What should you do now? Stop spamming the forums, for one! Calm down and continue about your life, helping folks here 🙂 your posts will remain moderated and require our approval for a while yet, however.
@ipstenu (Mika Epstein),
Thank you for finally responding to me.
Unfortunately, though, your claims are factually inaccurate.
First, I never made multiple posts from multiple accounts. I have had and have posted from only ONE account – HCE. This account – HCE2 – is only my second account, and I had to create this account b/c my first account – HCE – was blocked. The comment that started this thread was my first and only comment from this second account.
Secondly, never once did I “yell” at any mods. Writing comments in all caps is considered “yelling” and never once were any of my comments submitting in all caps.
Third, I only submitted the same comment (a comment asking why my previous comment was deleted) multiple times b/c my question kept being deleted without being answered.
The Forum Welcome states:
“…it is not the general policy to edit or delete forum posts unless they are spam or outright abuse.”
Me asking why my comment was deleted is certainly NOT “spam”. Neither can it be reasonably considered “outright abuse”, as there was no profanity, name calling, threats, or any vulgar language in any of my comments.
So again, I would like to know specifically why my comments were deleted.
All I did was post a comment in a forum asking a moderator a question. The moderator did not answer my question and deleted my comment. So, of course, I asked the moderator why they deleted my comment. Instead of the moderator explaining to me why they deleted that comment they just deleted my subsequent comment asking for an explanation. I continued reposting that comment, from the SAME ONE account, asking why my initial comment was deleted b/c I wanted an answer. I wanted to know what was wrong with my comment so I could be mindful of it when making subsequent comments. How could you expect me to know what is considered inappropriate if you don’t tell me???
There was absolutely nothing argumentative about my initial comment to the moderator. But if you believe there was, then tell me why it was considered argumentative so I can make an adjustment. But to just delete my comments with no explanation and then block me is surely inequitable.
Again, I would like an explanation as to why my initial comment was deleted, and why my subsequent comments asking for that explanation was deleted without providing a response.
HCE: *I* am the one who blocked you.
Your initial comments were deleted correctly because you were basically being a jerk. Even in Russian, there’s no excuse for that sort of behavior or for complaining about “attitude”.
Second, you complained at a moderator when they tried to put the conversation back on course. The moderator did not deserve your replies in that manner.
Third, you posted to a 5 month old thread complaining that your comments had been deleted and then demanding to know why. They were deleted because they were inappropriate and you should have known that in the first place, and asking about them was out of line.
Finally, you went and created no less than 10 new topics over the span of 2.5 hours, all the same, all of which were deleted. You do not get to bypass moderation by mere persistence. This sort of behavior is abusive, it is rude, and it is absolutely not tolerated on these forums. I blocked you specifically because you continued to post the same thing repeatedly. That is spammer behavior, or a sign that you should possibly calm down.
We have several steps that we go through to moderate these forums, and you blew past all of them in the span of about 3 hours. Well done, I guess.
Here’s how it is: On these forums, you will behave professionally, or you will not be allowed to post here. It is as simple as that. If you’re not happy with those rules, you’re free to post somewhere else.
The topic ‘Why was I blocked?’ is closed to new replies.
