Why MySQL

    Hello All,

    I have what might be a simple question with a simple answer, at least I hope. I want to set up WordPress on my own server but to do so I have to install MySQL. I cannot for the life of my find anything that tells me WHY I need to install MySQL. What in WordPress uses MySQL? Call my finicky, but I tend to refrain from any install unless I know why I am required to do so.

    before you decided to write this post, did you investigate what MySQL is?

    Your posts, comments, tags, categories, everything that IS “structure” is stored inside a MySQL database.

    Thats why.
