What would be the alternative, posting in the same thread that you have the same issue? No point in that. If the issue truly is the same then all you have to do is follow the support given in that thread.
A lot of the time people presume they have the same issue, when really they’ve identified they have the same symptom. Experienced forum users know that when people’s symptoms are unravelled they are not normally the same issue.

The thought would be nice. That if all support for each issue was contained within 1 thread and everyone could get the same solution from the same thread. But really those threads get crazy even if all comments are on-topic and helpful. I find longer threads more difficult to follow than shorter.

The post you references was old and was specific to an absolutely ancient copy of WordPress (3.1.1 to be exact). Are you using WordPress 3.1.1 on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster? No? Then please do not post in someone else’s thread. Start your own topic.
