Sure, but it’s a whole lot easier to do it the other way. And besides, how are we to know there’s an update even available? It’s kind of ridiculous to expect people to check in with your site all the time to find out.
So, I ask again, why doesn’t the update show?
Because 1.10.11 checks an old site that no longer exists.
2.x should be using WordPress.
Okay, I updated manually, and everything’s working fine. It’s definitely faster, thanks for that! The old version added a lot to the website loading time.
So, from now on, updates will show in WordPress?
Yes, the updates should now show in wordpress, as long as you’ve got that enabled (it’s in wp-config.php). There are also plugins that can hide updates for any/all plugins that could also affect this.
Note: If you see updates for other plugins, you should find it will work now. I included the above mainly because it’s possible to turn it off in WP itself for all plugins (and someone might complain it’s not working). This gives them a hint to go check their WP config. 😉
