• I have installed wordpress and the first thing is i select a new template, however as nice as the templates are when its installed and activated and you have a look at the site, all their is showing is a page which needs to be edited.

Why do templates show a good looking index page if it then does not show initially on the site.

With joomla if you select a template what you see is whats displayed, wordpress template does not even show the template just a basic page for editing, this is not what i expected. There are no images no headers the same as the template chosen.

Can anyone please tell me why a selected template does not even display initially like the template just a basic page, as this is really putting me off building a blog site.

I have looked at youtube and all of them say select a theme and activate it, then they go to the site and the template is there in full colour. I followed exactly what they say yet mine has no pictures and no template can anyone tell me why please.
