Why do the instruction for exporting the database keep changing?

    I usually backup my databases every couple of weeks, and when I do I reference this page:

    I’ve always been confused by how frequently this page changes. Specifically, it often has different instruction for which check boxes to tick under the SQL and DATA sections in phpMyAdmin (currently step 6 and 7). One day it will tell me to check a certain set, then a very different set the next day.

    Why does this happen? Do editors disagree about what should be checked? Does it really matter anyway – I mean – is there only one set of boxes that can be checked to successfully backup (and later restore) your database?
