I created a staging website with your plugin and it works really great. The reason for creating the staging is I need to see what happens when I change collations in the database. But… on the webhost dashboard I don’t see a database connected to the staging website.
So where does the staging-database live and can I “mess around” with it without it affecting the live-website?

    Hello @humpiedump

Thanks for your kind words! We’re glad to hear that WP STAGING is working well for you.

The staging site’s database is usually stored in the same database server as your live site’s database, but the staging site uses separate database tables with a different table prefix. That’s why you may not see a separate database listed in your hosting dashboard.

You can safely experiment with database settings, such as collations, on the staging site without affecting your live site’s database, provided you only modify the staging tables.

    A few important precautions:

    • Make sure you identify the staging tables correctly before making any changes.
    • Avoid running database-wide commands that modify all tables, as these could affect your live site as well.
    • We recommend creating a backup of your live site before experimenting, just in case.

    I hope this helps!

Ah, yes I see it now: all the tables are copied and placed below the original ones with different prefix. Just had to scroll a litle bit further :-). Thank you for your quick respons!
