Where is the images folder?

I have an image in a footer, which I want to change. The code in the footer php is:

<img src=”<?php bloginfo(‘template_directory’)?>/images/*.jpg

The photo is in the Media Library, as is the photo i want to replace it with. However, changing the code by replacing the present photo name with the new one doesn’t work – nothing shows. So, it seems that the images folder is elsewhere, but where? I also do not see a bloginfo.php.
