• Hey!

    So I am searching how I could modify the link in the footer that comes by default. I have a german version of WP, but it says pretty much the same as in the english one, “Proudly presented by WordPress”, or actually “Proudly powered by WordPress”.

    This whole line represents the link. I don’t think it looks very nice. I’d prefer if only the word “WordPress” was the link, see what I mean?

    Now I am wondering where I could modify that. As mentioned, I am using the german version of WP. Can’t find anything! Not in the footer, not in the functions, and the language folders consist of weird files that I can’t open…

    Cheers

    Nobody knows?

    Do you have a URL to your site?

    Have you double checked your themes footer.php?

    Oops, it’s the Twenty Twelve theme, version 3.5.1 like mentioned in the right column and german pack like mentioned in the first post 🙂

    Sadly it’s localhost only at the moment. Yes I have, I can see the english text but where are the language files stored? I guess that’s what I would need.

    Here’s what I have:

    <div class="site-info">
    			<?php do_action( 'twentytwelve_credits' ); ?>
    			<a href="<?php echo esc_url( __( 'http://wordpress.org/', 'twentytwelve' ) ); ?>" title="<?php esc_attr_e( 'Semantic Personal Publishing Platform', 'twentytwelve' ); ?>"><?php printf( __( 'Proudly powered by %s', 'twentytwelve' ), 'WordPress' ); ?></a>
    		</div><!— .site-info -->

    But I have the site in german, this line for me does not appear in english therefore, but in german. Where can I modify this?

    <div class="site-info">
    			<?php do_action( 'twentytwelve_credits' ); ?>
    			<a href="<?php echo esc_url( __( 'http://wordpress.org/', 'twentytwelve' ) ); ?>" title="<?php esc_attr_e( 'Semantic Personal Publishing Platform', 'twentytwelve' ); ?>"><?php printf( __( '', 'twentytwelve' ), 'WordPress' ); ?></a>
    		</div><!— .site-info -->

    Try that.

    Yes that will most likely remove it. I don’t want to remove it however, I just want to make the word “WordPress” the link to wordpress.org, instead of the whole sentence.

    But this sentence is saved somewhere else, in a language pack probably, because I’m not using WP in english!

    You could just move the text you don’t want to be in the link outside of the ‘a’ tag.

    <div class="site-info">
    			<?php do_action( 'twentytwelve_credits' ); ?>
    			Produly Powered by:<a href="<?php echo esc_url( __( 'http://wordpress.org/', 'twentytwelve' ) ); ?>" title="<?php esc_attr_e( 'Semantic Personal Publishing Platform', 'twentytwelve' ); ?>"><?php printf( __( '', 'twentytwelve' ), 'WordPress' ); ?></a>
    		</div><!— .site-info -->
