I am using the Duplicate Post plugin to copy posts as templates for new ones. When I clone a post and then publish the new post the post url used in the tweet by WP to Twitter plugin is the url of the original post, not the new post.

So the tweet for the new posts links to the old post used as the template when it should link to the new post.

    Any help is appreciated 🙂

Thank you for the quick replay Joe! I applied the settings. Hopefully that should do it 🙂

    Hi Joe,

Twitter urls are still being copied from the earlier post when posts are cloned as a draft for a new post.

    I have _wp_jd_supr,_wp_jd_ind,_wp_jd_bitly,_wp_jd_wp,_wp_jd_yourls,_wp_jd_url,_wp_jd_goo,_wp_jd_target,_jd_wp_twitter,_jd_twitter,_wpt_failed

in the “Do not copy these fields” field of the Duplicate Post plugin.

Any help would would be appreciated. Thanks!

Have you updated to the latest version of WP to Twitter? If so, the storage for old URLs has been changed; you can now delete these:

    _wp_jd_supr,_wp_jd_ind,_wp_jd_bitly,_wp_jd_wp,_wp_jd_yourls,_wp_jd_url,_wp_jd_goo,_wp_jd_target

    In favor of:

    _wpt_short_url

I consolidated all the different types of link storage into a single container.

That seemed to have fixed the issue. I will let you know if it breaks again. Thanks AGAIN!

Hmm, now new posts aren’t publishing to Twitter at all.
