    Yes, the “Text” view is like an HTML editor that minifies and never generates any formatting, and then you also cannot switch from “Visual” to “Text” and then back again without one bit of formatting or another getting lost or being dropped or whatever. You can surround your text with <pre> in "Text" mode </pre> to make it render *exactly* as you type everything, but then again be sure to not go back to “Visual” since that will be stripped away.

    There is no solution if you wish to switch from one to the other and then back again. In my own case, I typically begin in “Visual” and then ultimately only use “Text” for later editing to get things as I want them and to keep them that way.
