weird emails from moderating on comments

Hopefully you get the content of the comment to, so you can read it in the email.
The first link takes you to your WP admin screen to confirm that you accept the comment. It’s not published before you do.
The second link takes you t a WHOIS server, so you can check up on what domain the comment came from, and eventually who owns the domain, as you might not know the commentor.

I guess you get one more link, so to go to your blog and read the whole comment before you approve it.

If you don’t want to approve every comment, you can change that from your WP Dashboard. I’d want to approve the first comment from a new commentor and then let WP automatically publish new comments from the same reader.

Strange indeed. I usually don’t decide any approvements directly in the mail, but use the “You can see all comments on this post here: ” – link. This brings me to my wp admin page an I can read the full comment and any other waiting moderation.

This seems to me to be another question, one about comment numbering. In may last entry I was still discussing your moderation of email posts, and explained my habits in that regard.
Others have had problems ( new thread here 🙂 with the numbering of comments after an upgrade to 2.01.
