• Hi,I just got a new client today so I went to have a look at what he needed. one of the think=gs on the list was to upgrade to 3.5.1 . He is running 3.1.2 . In the admin side I see no theme anything, no menu anything, no plugin anything.. My question is was this normal for 3.1.2 or did someone remove things?

I will be backing up before we do any upgrade as I expect something to brake.

    Thanks,

    Rick

That generally indicates that the account you are using doesn’t have administrative privileges. If you’re sure you’re logging in with the admin account, then something is already broken. 3.1.2 is also insecure with published exploits. Don’t rule out the possibility of compromise.

I’m not sure if incremental manual upgrading may be required to go from 3.1.2 to 3.5 or not, but there may be additional details here: Upgrading WordPress Extended

Another thing to be aware of is that the php version requirements changed as of WordPress version 3.2. Make sure the server is going to support the new WordPress requirements.
