Weekly/Monthly Summary Reports

In the previous incarnation of this plugin, there was a dashboard widget that allowed selection of a download and generation of a weekly or monthly download summary graph. Example: http://postimg.org/image/vetw1zajp/

How can I get a summary of a month’s downloads now? It would appear the only way now is to manually note and reset the counter at the start of each month.
