• Hello,

usually this works fine but today I received the weekly report 15 times until I deactivated it completely in the backend. Not really much has changed since last week besides keeping all the plugins up to date. Is there any way I can investigate this? I have a mail logger installed, but the wordfence mails not seem to show up there.

    Thanks!

Hi @skinperforator, thanks for getting in touch.

The plugin sends emails from your site using your default method (either via an SMTP plugin, or just sendmail/postfix on your server). I would strongly suspect that there has been a problem with one of these that just caused it to loop thinking it hadn’t sent emails yet when it actually had.

You should be able to reset sendmail/postfix from your hosting control panel, although ask your host for assistance doing that if you’re unable to (or not able to find it).

Failing that, try disabling the summary, or changing frequency from weekly to daily/monthly in Wordfence > All Options, save the changes, then change it back to your desired frequency to see if it has an effect on re-triggering them. You could check the dates/times of wordfence_email_activity_report in Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics > Cron Jobs although it’s likely to just show you if it is scheduled rather than point to a past problem.

    Many thanks,
    Peter.

    Hi,
this week it got even worse. Last week I could stop through deactivating and reactivating and changing the frequency. This week it only stops when I deactivate the reports completely. As soon as I reactivate it I get a report every few seconds (even feels like more the lower the frequency I set).
This is only the case with the activity reports. All other mails function normally, so I guess that shouldn’t be a sendmail/postfix problem, right?
