    Hi,

    I succesfully migrated our old website to our new one in March 2023 via this great plugin

    Currently the old website still exists as some old customers might happen to go there having saved the old URL. I made the old website redirect automatically to the new website https://michaelwdeem.com/

    In the near future we’ll delete the old website

    Is it safe to delete the old website or could that impact the new website?

    Regarding your question about deleting the old website, it’s generally safe to do so once you’ve ensured that everything has been successfully transferred to the new site. As you’ve set up a redirect from the old website to the new one, any visitors who happen to land on the old URL will be automatically directed to your new site, which is a great strategy.

    Before deleting the old website, we recommend double-checking that you’ve migrated all essential data, files, and settings to your new site. Additionally, ensure that any necessary email accounts or other services connected to the old domain are properly transferred or updated.

    Once you’ve confirmed that everything is in order, you can safely delete the old website without affecting the new one. Keep in mind that after deleting the old website, the redirect will no longer work, so it’s essential to update any links or references to the old URL wherever possible.
