Can some1 give me step by step instructions of restoring my Cpanel WP files? I have a backup of the database i saved on Cpanel 2 weeks ago.
I have the zipped file saved on my desktop, I was told to delete the plugins and such from WP_content, and the themes. Can some1 help me put them back up?
Its probably a plugin. My site got hacked before with a plugin, your lucky if hes not put a worm onto all your files..dont try email him, thats how he hacks too..just try remove his page
I don’t know how.
Thank you esmi for your links but i still have no idea how to fix it.
I cannot log into my wp at all, the admin page has the same thing as the homepage.
Basically i have to go though cpanel some how, and i have no idea how to restore the old backup from 2 weeks ago. I did a full backup on cpanel, and it sent to my email this link “pkgacctfile is: /home/nat48045/backup-9.20.2011_15-32-15_nat48045.tar.gz”
Anyway i cant find that to restore it, it didnt physically save on my desktop or anything like that.
None of the link I posted above require you to login to your WordPress admin area. If you cannot manage this yourself, then you may need to consider hiring someone.
I can manage deleting everything i just down know how to get it all back up on cpanel.
I would rather learn how to do it myself so if it happens again i know how to fix it.
From you cPanel go to your phpMyAdmin (this is the interface for your MySql database – where your wp content files live – & if your host doesn’t have you need a new host). In the sidebar, find your wordpress install – if you only have 1 site, it’s the only one there. Click on it. In the top menu click IMPORT. You will get a screen with a browse upload box – upload your backup. Click Go. Done. Good luck
A db import will not remove any hack back doors.
