    Hi “KnolRaap”,

Have you tried it with a default theme (Twenty Fifteen) activated, and NO plugins activated?

Especially if the above still shows you an error message – since it’s a new installation – I’d suggest deleting it entirely and re-installing. It’s possible that a file didn’t upload or copy correctly. I’ve had that happen more than once when installing WP.

    Best,
    Patty

You mentioned trying to re-install, and doing it manually (as opposed to using Softaculous or Fantastico, etc.) I can’t tell if you tried it yet, but that would definitely be my next move. This time, don’t install any plugins, and see if the error is gone.

If it is, you can go forward one step at a time installing plugins and working on the site, checking for the error after each change you make. That way you should be able to catch what caused the problem.

It’s possible to remove the plugins from the current installation by editing the database, but I think it makes much more sense to re-install.

I hope that helps – keep us posted,
    Patty
