Website Crashed, can't get into dashboard either

I created a wordpress.org site but it is no longer running. It crashed early this morning (around 3am EST) and has not come back up. Here’s the link to the site:

The last thing I did before it crashed was insert a code into functions.php to run the widget WP Stock Ticker. The widget managed to appear on the site but about 5 min later I wasn’t able to log onto the dashboard and then soon after the site stopped loading.

I’m not sure if the widget is the sole cause of the problem because it had been active for several hours (5+) before I inserted the run code into functions.php. I am able to go into the ftp files and I even deleted the code since, but still not running.

I then saw the post by shinemichaels and followed his instructions, but still nothing. I had the Jetpack plugin installed and active as well as he did. but that had been running for over 24 hours and I didn’t have any problems during that time.

Is this common? It seems a little weird that multiple sites crashed recently. I am new to wordpress.org so I’m not sure how common this is.
