website backup/Wp_options import

    Hey guys, i’m in need of help :/
    i recently got my own server built and i wanted to recreate my old website. Before i cancelled my payment plan i made a backup of my files, in this a .tar file? and a folder with all the wp-admin/wp-content/wp-includes and so on.

    i then installed WAMP and wanted to use my backup but i cant seem to get it working? i saw some guides where they instruced me to use the import option in the wp_options tab. Though i can only take .sql.zip files? please help anyone, is there another way? or am i doing it wrong?

    Can you extract the .tar file to your desktop? If so, do that and then move the files to your local WAMP folder.

    just move the compresseed .tar.winrar file to WAMP folder?

    No.

    Uncompress it first; and see if you can gain access to the file directories.

    Then move the root file and folders (wp-admin folder, wp-content folder, wp-includes folder, index.php, wp-config.php, etc) into the folder of your WAMP that is set to be the root folder of the website.

    i do have access to the files, but the .tar file differs from the other backupfile. The .tar file has alot of folder which i’ve not seem before, where as the other folder has the known files.

    I’ve now done this, but when i type local/pmhtech/ (my site) i get an error, where as before i got a clean wordpress site?

    Take a look at the image on this link:

    Although outdated; it depicts how the file structure should appear in the root directory.

    You’ll need to get the files and folders into the WAMP folder used for the website.

    Hello again Josh 🙂 Thank you for the attempted help, but i still cant seem to figure it out. Would you be willing to connect to my server (via teamviewer)? its up 24/7 and ill glady point you to the files
