Sorry you feel that way. This is a limitation of the YouTube API , so as of now there is no easier method to connect the two.

We have plenty of documentation and methods of support. At the moment, support has remained free.

It seems that you’ve entered the wrong URL in one of the locations in your Google API console.

    Thanks,

Yes sorry Evan that comment is way to harsh, I suppose its borne of frustration with WordPress. Here you have a product that is dare i say amazing and makes “web creation” available to all. When we, the group just above Luddites, download a plugin we expect it to work just like WordPress, a sort of plug and play not a plug and spend 10 hours trying to get the thing to work.
I have long been a advocate for a rating guide as to level of difficulty. How you would gauge this I do not know. But if i could look through and see that to achieve success with your plugin I need a “Level 8” ability. I could then decide whether it was worth the time. At present the way i decide on which app to use is date and popularity. I suppose also I would be prepared to give up the time if i believed that the app would do something wonderful for me!
Anyho! the issue for me with your app was that there are about 20 variables and of course its not helped by YouTube changing the access screens. I spent quite awhile trying different configs till frustration one out. Twitter and Facebook are the same Its as if they don’t want us to use them or they want to make it as difficult as possible. OK enough just wanted to explain no reply necessary

I completely agree with you on all counts. I wish there were an easier, one click method of setting up and retrieving an API key. I know that the YOAST Google analytics plugin does utilize some sort of ‘one click’ api key generation, but I’m not sure if this is available through the YouTube API.

This is one of the major pain points of the plugin, and one of the main reasons I haven’t released any add-ons or started selling support. This is also why I invested in getting a tutorial video voiced over, in the hopes that it would help users along the way.

I want to get this speed bump ironed out, to help ease in the transition. I will be looking into this issue further in the coming days. Again, I’m very sorry that things have been so difficult, but this seems to be the easiest method for linking your YouTube account with your WordPres site.

Hopefully I’ll be able to find a much more simplistic approach.

Appreciate your comments and thoughts so much so that I will give it another go later in the week. A while back I was using a php script which was difficult to install the author offered a $20 set install which I gladly paid. He obviously didn’t do the install he farmed it out to some others but the point being I knew what it would cost and the job was done. I use nextscripts social plugin I think its called brilliant the first install too me days now its minutes. This game is very much like that.
