• After updating to latest version (2.0.9), I do not see the watermarks on images (applied a long time ago, back in 2022 or before). I’ve tried to manually apply the watermark, but it doesn’t remain on the image in Media Folder and does not appear on the front end either.

    Hi,

Updating to version 2.0.9 has no impact on images that were already watermarked in the past. Once a watermark is embedded into an image, it becomes part of the file itself, so the plugin version cannot remove or alter it by just updating the plugin.

What can happen, especially when updating from a much older release, is that the watermark settings need to be refreshed. In those cases we’d recommend to open the plugin settings, selecting the watermark image again, and saving the configuration. This ensures that all new features and settings introduced in recent versions are properly initialized.

After re‑selecting and saving the watermark image, applying the watermark again should work normally.

Yes. I tried that first. It did not work. I reset the settings to default as well, then re-established all the settings and saved, but no watermarks appeared even after purging the cache (LS). When I try to manually add the watermark in the media folder, upon return, the watermark is not there.

I’m sure that the images did have the watermarks as you can see on the wayback machine.

    But now they do not.

What else might I try to remedy this issue?

@kdcpelt I’m having the same issue. Were you able to resolve this? Are using a media offload plugin by chance?
