Wanted: Advice on Forum Plugins

I am developing a site where I can have forums for B2B exchanging resources. Ideally I would like posters to fill out a form for their post so they include complete information. In looking at the various forums I have become so confused as to their capabilities. I’m willing to pay for what will work — but having trouble deciding which one might work the best.

Is Vanilla free – or is that a come on? BBPress plugin seems like it might work but I suspect I’ll have to get into child themes, etc. and that is a bit beyond me right now. SimplePress doesn’t look like it will have enough. Mingle forum doesn’t look like it will have enough.

Does anyone have any suggestions, ideas, able to point me in the direction of some good tutorials. . . any help will be very much appreciated!!!
