W3schools recommends not using document.write(); javascript. Than what?

    W3schools recommends not using document.write() in your javascript, but they don’t recommend what to use instead.

    What I’m looking to do is use control structures to do dynamic things on my web page. All sorts; rotate images, interactive calendar, and such.
